Universe® Corporation was founded in 1979 to engineer, fabricate and distribute Aluminum Composite material (ACM). Universe® was one of the original Alucobond® distributors. During the early 80's, the Universe® 2000 rout and return attachment system was developed, tested and patented. This attachment system combined with its engineering and fabrication know-how, became the core of a business that has evolved into Universe® Corporation becoming one of the leading fabricators of aluminum composite material in the United States.
In the early 1990's the company embarked on a growth plan to expand its marketing, product and service offerings. In 1992, the Universe® 2222 rout and return deep reveal system was developed to answer the architects' aesthetic requirements for the MBTA South Station Transportation Center in Boston. This project is the single largest application of composite panel in the United States. It involves the use of 550,000 square feet of panel that was fabricated into 22,000 panels. In 1994, the Universe® 4000 rout and return dry set system was developed and pre-tested. The 4000 System is generally specified when a higher performance wall system is required. Since 1994 several other attachment systems have been developed and tested. The ACM panel and their attachment systems are marketed through independent sales representatives and erectors across the United States, the Caribbean and Mexico.
In 1993 the company expanded its activities to include the distribution of other high-end cladding products such as Kalwall, Pilkington Profilit, Benchmark, Aluma Shield, Rollcom/Centria, Baker Metals, and other wall clading systems. The company has since started its own installation business. This activity is focused in Illinois and Missouri.
The company operates in St. Louis, Missouri. It has an engineering staff that has 200 years of experience in the exterior cladding/curtainwall business.
