A rout and return system, UNIVERSE® 2222 offers the designer the ability to highlight shadow lines or picture frame the panels by utilizing 2" wide x 1" deep reveals, which may run horizontally, vertically, or in both directions.
The unique ball attachment method allows non-progressive installation and individual panel removability without disturbing adjacent panels and without impacting system integrity. The panel is able to thermally expand and contract by rotating around the extrusion ball. Reveal joint width is 2" and the caulked joint width options are 3/8", 1/2", and 5/8" and joint consistency is enforced to ensure fit and finish. Sealant in the joint serves as the weather barrier. Fully tested to current code requirements including ASTM E283 (@ 6.24 psf), ASTM E330 (@ 15 psf), and ASTM E331 (@ 40 psf). |

The aluminum snap-on cover may be furnished in the same color as the panel or in a contrasting color to further highlight the recess. Another benefit of the cover is that it also serves to conceal the dual beads of silicone sealant, thereby preventing silicone leaching and perserving the aesthetics of the panel system
